Time to turn the lights down low and slip into something more comfortable: "American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story" is on its way.
The 13-episode tell-all starts streaming April 7 on Amazon, which has just revealed the first trailer. The "docuseries" stars Matt Whelan ("Narcos") as the Chicago businessman who rocked sex and the magazine industry when he began publishing Playboy in 1953. The first nude centerfold: Marilyn Monroe.
"In the beginning I set out to make a magazine," he says. "What I started was a revolution."
Hefner, now 90, was actively involved in the making of "American Playboy," supplying the producers with 17,000 hours of film and video and more than 2,600 scrapbooks.
"This is my story," says the notorious ladies' man. "Or at least how I remember it."
