Before she got "Married…With Children," actress Katey Sagal dated Kiss' Gene Simmons, sang with Bette Midler, struggled with addictions to alcohol and weight-loss pills and survived cancer.
Now 63, she looks back on life's highs and lows with "Grace Notes," a memoir coming out this week.
Sagal chronicles everything from her "turbulent" childhood and early singing career to her hilarious star turn as ditzy housewife Peg Bundy on "Married…With Children," the hit sitcom that aired from 1987–1997. "It took me years to feel like I belonged" on TV, Sagal admits, noting she had a similar problem coping with her 60th birthday.
Her "candid, reflective" story, says Kirkus Reviews, "is sure to please the author's many fans" and "appeal to readers of Hollywood memoirs seeking substance that goes beyond gossip and name-dropping."
