Walter Becker is gone, but Steely Dan is back on track. Donald Fagen is taking the band on the road in October for the first shows since the death of his longtime partner last week at 67.
The brief, eight-show tour kicks off October 13 in Thackerville, Oklahoma, and wraps up October 25 in National Harbor, Maryland. Steely Dan will then head to Europe for two shows with the Doobie Brothers, October 28 in Dublin and October 29 in London.
Fagen, 69, announced his intention "to keep the music we created together alive as long as I can" shortly after Becker died.
The cause of Becker's death has not yet been revealed. In July, he pulled out of two high-profile stadium concerts with the Eagles and the Doobie Brothers in Los Angeles and New York, citing undisclosed health reasons. Fagen later confirmed that Becker was "recovering from a procedure."
