Sweetest Things

There are good food blogs devoted to baking, bad ones and not very much in between. We obviously aren't going to send you to the bad ones, but the three below all share a few similar traits. The photography is gorgeous, the recipes are well organized with clear instructions and none of them have that tedious confessional voice forcing you to wade through paragraph after paragraph before you get to the recipe for, say, baking that pumpkin hazelnut coffee cake. To wit:

1. Pictures and Pancakes — The work of a photographer and food stylist who really know their stuff. Try: Cherry and Buttermilk Ice Cream

2. Always With Butter — OK, so there's a little bit of writing to wade through, but the recipes and images are so strong we are willing to put up with it. Try: Pumpkin Hazelnut Coffee Cake (pictured)

3. Top with Cinnamon — Don't be overwhelmed by the number of beautiful photos. Just keep scrolling and you'll hit the excellent recipes at the end of each post. Try: Skillet Apple Crumble
