No makeup. No Photoshop. No problem for Pirelli, the company whose annual calendar has officially shed its cheesy pinup past to showcase actresses without age limits in all their natural glory.
The 2017 edition, dubbed "Emotional," features stark, unretouched black and white shots of stars young and older, ranging from Alicia Vikander, 28, to Charlotte Rampling, 70, and Helen Mirren, 71.
The bulk of the closeups are familiar faces now in their 40s (Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman) and 50s (Julianne Moore, Robin Wright).
The other young pups include Rooney Mara, 31, and Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o ("12 Years a Slave"), 33.
"As an artist, I feel I'm responsible for freeing women from the idea of eternal youth and perfection," says photographer Peter Lindbergh. "The ideal of perfect beauty promoted by society is something that simply can't be attained."
Early reviews, unlike the makeup, are glowing. "This is how we need to see every woman," says Glamour. "There is nothing more beautiful than reality."
