Chuck Berry's first-ever music video made its premiere today, two months after the rock and roll legend's death at 90.
NPR Music has posted the dance-happy clip for "Big Boys," the first song from Berry's final album, "CHUCK," available June 16.
The video takes a hip-hop approach to a 1950s high-school sock hop, with a Berry-like guitarist on stage and a parade of exuberant kids swinging on the dance floor. Led by a precocious interloper—a young boy wearing suspenders and a newsboy cap—the dancers even pay homage to Berry by duckwalking across the gym floor.
"Chuck Berry tunes are a good time and they tell stories that everyone can relate with," directors Matt Bizer and Curtis Wayne said in an email to NPR Music, "so we wanted to stay true to that."
