'Yellow Submarine' comic book is in the works

We all live in a yellow ... comic book.

The Beatles have okayed a colorful new adaptation of "Yellow Submarine," to be published by Titan Comics in 2018, the golden anniversary of their hit animated movie in 2018.

"The Beatles: Yellow Submarine" will be written and illustrated by Bill Morrison, the new editor of Mad magazine.

"We're thrilled," gushed a Titan executive. "We can't wait for Beatles' fans to experience this official adaptation."

In addition to the comic book, Titan will produce the "All Together Now" collection of vinyl dolls, including two renditions of the Beatles and assorted Blue Meanies. It will hit shelves later this month.

"Yellow Submarine" premiered in theaters in July 1968, two years after the title track surfaced at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The soundtrack album, featuring four new Beatles songs, charted the same path when it was released in January 1969.
