Based on the 1971 Broadway musical, the 1978 movie starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as teenagers who fall in love in the summer of '58, just before their senior year at Rydell High School.

"Grease" featured the hit songs "You're the One That I Want," "Summer Nights" and the Oscar-nominated ballad "Hopelessly Devoted to You." The soundtrack was the second-best-selling album of 1978, just behind another blockbuster movie soundtrack, "Saturday Night Fever."
