Oh, the Places You'll Go!

They say that baby boomers spend over $150 billion annually on travel, making it our no. 1 leisure activity. Now we’re learning a lot more about how and why boomers travel. The findings of a study done by the Preferred Hotel Group were recently published in Forbes. Turns out that ecotourism and adventure travel are hugely popular with the 50+ group. So is medical tourism, which has grown to become a $40 billion industry. Participating in multigenerational family vacations are also big draws for boomer travelers, as are “bucket list” adventures to places like Tahiti and other exotic locales, as well as learning-focused travel for things like language and cooking classes. — Ralph Raffio
