Food Gangs of New York

While Gordon Ramsay's The London lost both of its coveted stars, newcomer Jungsik collected the only new two-stars to be allotted this year in Michelin's 2014 guide to New York restaurants. Jungsik, a high-end Korean spot in Tribeca, joins Atera, Marea, Momofuku Ko and Soto as the only two-starred restaurants in the Big Apple. All seven establishments with three stars — Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare, Daniel, Eleven Madison Park, Jean-Georges, Le Bernardin, Masa and Per Se — kept their ratings for 2014. Dining at these restaurants, of course, does not come cheap. Jungsik only offers two dining choices — a three-course meal for $80 or five-courses for $115. And that does not include wine. But fear not, there are 863 non-starred restaurants in the guide and an excellent section titled "Under $25" for those nights you don't want to blow $250 on dinner.
