Tooling Around in iCars

While Apple fans continue to wait for the release of the company's next game-changing product — a watch? A television? A bigger phone? Or a watch/television/bigger phone all-in-one? — the smart money says that Apple's next frontier may be the front seat of your automobile. The tech giant announced iOS in the Car at its developer's conference last month, and the system will ostensibly allow for deeper integration into dashboards than simple audio playback through your car's speakers. CEO Tim Cook recently called the initiative a "key focus" for the company, viewing it as an important "part of the ecosystem." A dozen or so automakers are already on board, from Ferrari and Mercedes to Hyundai and Honda. We're in! We'd much rather go to the App Store than the local garage. – Doug Gottlieb
